Step-by-step installation

1. Clean the mounting surfaces: Wipe the inside of the cabinet door and the cabinet frame with rubbing alcohol. Let them dry completely. Any dust or grease will weaken the adhesive bond. A clean surface is the most common cause of failure — skip this step and the lock may fall off.
2. Peel and attach the lock body: Remove the backing from the adhesive on the lock body. Press it firmly onto the inside of the cabinet door, near the top edge. Hold for 30 seconds. Position the lock so the slot aligns with the catch on the frame. Test alignment before pressing fully.
3. Attach the catch to the frame: Peel the backing from the catch piece and press it onto the cabinet frame directly opposite the lock. Close the door gently to check that the catch engages the lock. If the door does not close fully, reposition the catch slightly. Do not force the door.
4. Test with the magnetic key: Hold the magnetic key against the outside of the door where the lock is mounted. The lock should release with a click. Open the door and confirm the lock re-engages when closed. If the lock does not release, the key may not be aligned. Move the key in a small circle over the lock area.
5. Repeat for remaining locks: Install the other three locks on different cabinets or drawers using the same process. Store the magnetic key in a safe place out of children's reach but accessible to adults. Each lock uses the same key, so you only need one key for all locks in the set.
